What Panna, Ank and Jodi Mean in a Matka Result
New to matka results? Learn how three drawn digits become a panna, how the ank is worked out, and how the open and close anks form the jodi.
Every matka result on this site is written the same way, for example 157-38-280. Once you know the three building blocks, any result and any chart becomes easy to read.
Panna (patti)
Three digits from 0-9 are drawn and written in ascending order, so 7, 1 and 5 become 157. This three-digit number is the panna. There are exactly 220 possible pannas, which is why you see the phrase “all 220 cards”. Zero counts as ten when sorting, so 890 is written 890, not 089.
Ank
Add the three digits and keep the last digit of the total. For 157 the sum is 1 + 5 + 7 = 13, so the ank is 3. The ank is the single figure most players follow.
Jodi
Each market has an open draw and a close draw. The open ank and close ank together make the two-digit jodi. If the open ank is 3 and the close ank is 8, the jodi is 38 and the full result reads 157-38-280.
That is the whole system. Browse the record charts to see it in action.
